Christin's Story:
You always know right away, but people tell you not to read into it. That’s just boys for you.
They aren’t the ones getting the calls from school, though. They haven’t spent three hours trying to calm the raging storm of a temper tantrum. Or felt so overwhelmed and overstimulated by all the sensory-seeking behaviors that you literally want to vomit: the yelling, the crashing into you nonstop, jumping on top of you, getting hit, needing constant adult redirection.
Then there are the people who validate what you’re going through, but offer—or in some cases demand that you follow—advice that is completely opposite of what your child needs. You try to explain that when he becomes dysregulated, he’s actually just looking for love and validation. If you hold him and tell him it’s okay to make mistakes, you can calm the tides before the storm takes hold. These people think you aren’t setting good boundaries.
Finally, you find yourself working nights and watching your child during the day. Questioning everything, because you’ve forgotten how to trust yourself in the raging waters of invalidation and ill-given advice. Your child starts to bloom, though. One day, when you are so overwhelmed you break down on the kitchen floor… you feel little arms wrap around you and hear a small voice say, “It looks like you need me to fill you back up with some of my love.”
My son turns four today, and since before he was even a year old, I’ve been dealing with uncertainty in childcare. The village is gone. When you don’t have help at home, you have to rely on paid childcare—but they often don’t have the training or skills to recognize and support neurodivergent children as they grow into functioning people. I’ve been forced to follow bad advice, and the stress of trying to juggle everything alone while still making sure all the bills are paid is beyond overwhelming, to say the least. Don’t get me started on public special education. They look for reasons not to provide services. It doesn’t matter how clearly your child struggles to function in society.
I’ve teamed up with Minx Magic Polish to create NeuroTide, a polish inspired by my memories of the dark, stormy waters where I grew up. Even in the darkest tides of the storm, there’s a beauty that exists beneath the chaos—a depth, a power, and a quiet resilience. NeuroTide is a reminder that what looks turbulent on the surface can hold incredible strength below. It’s for the parents navigating uncharted waters, for the children learning to ride the waves in their own way, and for anyone who has ever been told they were “too much.” This polish is a love letter to neurodivergence, to surviving the storm, and to finding beauty in the tide that carries you forward.
$5 from of every bottle sold of NeuroTide will be donated to C.H.A.D.D. (Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/
Hyperactivity Disorder) , a national nonprofit dedicated to empowering people affected by ADHD through education, advocacy, support, and evidence-based resources.

Incredibly beautiful blue. It's deep, rich, and covers beautifully in just one coat. You could certainly deepen the shade with two coats, but it is a gorgeous, perfect blue.
